Álvaro Matud
Academic and institutional relations director of Fundación Tatiana.

Member of the board of directors of Fundación Tatiana Neuroscience Chair-Autonomous University of Madrid. European doctorate in information sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, with the distinction of “extraordinary doctorate”. Degree in law from the Complutense University of Madrid. Previously, he was director of communications and institutional relations at the international law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo. He has also been a lecturer at the Complutense University in Madrid and director of the Master’s degree in Corporate and Institutional Communication at the University Carlos III in Madrid, Unidad Editorial and Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo.


Javier Bernácer
Researcher with extensive training and experience in neuroscience, philosophy and psychology.

He holds degrees in Biology (2001) and Biochemistry (2003), a master’s degree in neuroscience (2004) and a master’s degree in philosophy (2015), a PhD in neuroscience (2006) and is accredited as a research professor in psychobiology (2021). He is also pursuing a PhD in philosophy. Regarding his research experience in neuroscience, he has conducted anatomical studies with post-mortem human material, anatomical and functional studies with neuroimaging, and researches decision-making processes and their affectation in different mental conditions such as psychosis, addiction and ADHD.


Juan Arana
Professor at the University of Seville.

University lecturer from 1975 to 2020. Doctor of Philosophy since 1978. Full member of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of Madrid since 2015. Professor of Philosophy at the University of Seville from 1986 to 2020. Has taught at: Universities of Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Lima, Montevideo, Río Piedras and Mayagüez (Puerto Rico), Arequipa, Málaga, Granada, Pamplona, Salamanca and Madrid. Humboldt Fellow (Münster, Berlin). Visiting Professor at: Münster Universität, Technische Universität Berlin, Mainz Universität, Paris IV-Sorbonne, CSIC, Madrid. Author of 20 monographs, 6 editions, around 250 book chapters and articles in scientific journals. Responsible editor of 13 collective volumes. Founder-director of three scientific journals and two editorial collections. 6 recognised six-year research fellowships. Member of the editorial board, editorial board or editorial board of 12 scientific journals. Member of the boards of 4 scientific associations.


Carmen Cavada
Professor of medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bilbao and PhD from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). Postdoctoral research at the Universities of Rotterdam and Yale. Professor of Human Anatomy and Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine of the UAM. Director of the UAM-Fundación Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno Chair in Neuroscience. Former President of the Spanish Society of Neuroscience. She has carried out and continues to carry out an extensive teaching activity in universities and research centres in Spain and Europe. Her research work, of notable impact in the field of Neuroscience, deals with the study of the connective and chemical architecture of the human and non-human primate brain. Member of the editorial board of international neuroscience journals and of steering and expert committees of international neuroscience societies..
